‘There is nothing nano-specific here’: a reconstruction of the different understandings of responsiveness in responsible nanotechnology innovation

In the past decades, controversies in science and technology have fuelled call for a research innovation system that is open to public scrutiny sensitive needs values. These calls been translated into framework responsible (RRI). Despite its crucial role RRI, dimension of responsiveness still considered be least conceptualized. this paper, we analyse mutual search meaning `responsiveness' during multi-stakeholder dialogue on nanotechnology innovation. We reconstructed five frames responsiveness: technology, market, expert, network, society-driven responsiveness. highlighted reflected three main strategies dealing with differences: avoidance, polarization, reframing. On basis our findings, argue order generate collective clear direction, conversations are needed which fundamental assumptions can questioned.
